U7/Stallions : Round 15

Opponent: Tornados

Round 15 saw the Stallions take on the Tornadoes. The Stallions rallied after conceding a few early goals and managed to score as well with Joshua striking the ball inside his own half and seeing it travel some twenty metres into the open goal.
Awstin did some really good things on Saturday and for his efforts was awarded the trophy. With the Tornadoes moving the ball forward, Awstin often managed to get his foot just in front of his opponent and kick the ball to safety.

William was also a trophy winner for this week. The effort William puts in at training comes out in the energy and effort he displays when he takes the field each Saturday. Kyle also had a good match and continues to be one of our most consistent players week in and week out. Judging by all the dirt and even some stud marks down Sebastian’s leg, it was clear all Stallions tried hard and showed great determination to keep tackling and contesting for the ball. Well done Stallions.

GO the STALLIONS.

U8/Rapids : Round 15

Opponent: Victory

A tough game against a great team today. Well done Rapids for great defending. Player of the week went to Colby and Encouragement award to Chris. You guys were consistent and played well all game. A fun day!

U8/Rovers : Round 14

Opponent: Dynamo

This week the Rovers played a fantastic game with excellent passing and team work. It was enjoyable to see the Rover’s players calling for the ball from good positions and supporting each other, which contributed to the excellent goals from Alex and Nick. It was also enjoyable to see the players’ Parents enjoying the game and giving support to ALL the players in the team.
Josh earned the ‘player of the week’ trophy for his outstanding game, contribution and consistent effort. The McDonalds encouragement award went to Mitchell, who played very well against the Dynamo’s, but also played well in two previous games, assisting Victory and the Jets teams due to lack of players. Well done the Rovers, let’s see if we can repeat the same performance during the last four games of the season.

U9/3 : Round 15

Opponent: Lidcombe Waratah

Goals For: 0

Goals Against: 0

What a great game we had this weekend, if a little short. It was amazing to watch the boys working together as a team, calling and passing, blocking and attacking. This was one of their best games for the season. Everyone worked hard to get the ball forward and it was great to see huge kicks from nearly the whole team, either to clear the ball from the goal or to pass it forward to the front line. It was very hard to choose a single player for the Man of the Match award as they all played so well. The trophy, however, went to Kunal for an excellent overall game and for playing in position all game. Well done team.

U9/4 : Round 15

Opponent: Merrylands SFC

Goals For: 1

Goals Against: 2

Coming up against the competition leaders we were in for a hard game. After going down 2 goals early everybody pulled their socks up and we fought hard to crack their defence. We were able to pull a goal back early in the second half (we are still deciding who slotted the goal as both Damon and Kieran got a boot to the ball at the same time, we may need to got to the photos) and for the remainder of the game were taking it to Merrylands. It was good to see everybody going in hard for the tackle, passing with good vision and playing as a team. Andrew Westley played well in goals all game, but a world class save from point blank range in the second half lifted every body, you could hear the thud against his hands from the coach’s box, and his keeping was applauded by both teams of parents. Ethan has another solid performance and continues improve and picked up player of the match for some great defence. To take it to the comp leaders like we did was outstanding. Keep up the good work Kolt’s.

U11/4 : Round 15

Opponent: St Michaels

Goals For: 2

Goals Against: 1

The team played a solid game today both in defence and attack. With two evenly matched teams, it was difficult to string a good play together. Both teams were apt at spoling the other's game play. By half time, St Michael's were ahead 0-1 and a win looked like a challenge. But mid way through the second half Belaal levelled the score and the team fired up. We made a couple of good runs at goal and then we earnt a penalty kick (at last we got one this season after losing so many games to a penalty shot in the dying moments). With only a few minutes left on the clock Luke made sure of it and slammed it into the goal. Then we started to play like we wanted to win. The mids and the strikers really worked the ball keeping up the attack. But Sarfraz had an excellent game today finding himself the last line of defence on many occassions and up in the attack on others. He was literally all over the place and earned Player of the Week. Go Kolts!

U12/1 : Round 15

Opponent: Winston Hills

Goals For: 5

Goals Against: 1

Without doubt the best performance of the season. Following last weeks effort it was good to see the boy's play the soccer that everyone knows and believes they are capable of playing. Some of the soccer played today was pretty to watch with the ball moving from defence to midfield through to the forwards. After going 1-0 down it was interesting to see how we would respond but it was very pleasing. Nice movement from Brandon saw Jason score the first goal, then Sam was able to put in a very nice header to go 2-1 ahead. 2-1 at half time the boys stayed focussed at half time and were very deliberate with the first 10 mins of the second half we played mistake free soccer and were able to score some goals. Following a nice move by Dominic and a lay off to Brandon who took his goal incredibly well. A nice goal from Jason and anothe rone from Sam took us to 5-1. We received a penalty and Mr reliable Tyson stepped up but it wasn't to be. MoM was Sam who got 2 goals and was a threat all game

U12/2 : Round 15

Opponent: Guildford County

Goals For: 3

Goals Against: 1

What a game! Playing Guilford County for the third time this season and we had a point to prove that we can beat this team and we did. The first half we were unorganised but that changed in the second half , we were moving the ball quicker and first goal of match coming from Jade, which lifted the team spirit and then another 2 great goals from Jake and Kyle , gave us a lead we wanted and deserved. This saw the opposition getting frustrated and appealing for penalties, but our Goal keeper Nathan did great job and keeping them only at 1 goal. The coaching team could not give out the MOM , as you ALL played an outstanding game, well done boys! Let's keep up the good work we have a couple of tough games ahead of us and it show the TEAM can win...so lets go and do it!!!!..

U12/3 : Round 15

Opponent: Auburn FC

Goals For: 5

Goals Against: 0

At this stage, every point is important. Therefore the plan was simple, keep our back tight, have a disciplined midfield, and attack at every opportunity, easy! We started slow, and did not set the pace, allowing Auburn to set it for us. This gave Auburn to many close opportunities. After 10 mins, we started too settled down, and started to play good football, closing off their attacks, and opening up their defence. Jerome (Striker) became a real menace to Auburns defence with his lightening acceleration, twists and turns. Adam with a great strike put away our 1st goal to make it 1-0. The second half came and we knew we had to put the game to bed early. As every the boy’s delivered, with a strike from Aiden 2-0. Goals from Jerome (2), and Rahul soon followed, which sealed the match. There were many exceptional plays, but Joshua in defence, and Matthew we’re stand outs. Great result team! Congratulations to Mitchell, who has really developed this season, and received MOTM. Joe - Coach

O35/5 : Round 14

Opponent: Rouse Hill Rams

Goals For: 0

Goals Against: 4

Beset by injuries, only 2/3rds of our squad made it to Rouse Hill for a chance to hit the top 4.Sadly no Walter, the hardest hit by injury, his kicking finger heavily bandaged and unuseable. You would think he drove a Volvo!
We may have gone down 4-0 but we certainly got our moneys worth.
3 knee injuries and a lesson in how to be ruthless and win at all costs.
Rather than wait for an ambulance for a suspected dislocated knee, Rouse Hill enacted an ancient ritual at a hastily convened half-time to heal their fallen warrior. Something along the lines of "get up and get off, we can beat these undermanned mugs you $%&!"
Whatever it was it worked a treat and then some as we were quickly reduced to 10 men then Wayne and Kevin lost the use of a leg each but fortunately not their kicking Fingers.
My mum always warned me about those strange rural folk and their voodoo. Now I know why.
Congratulations to Belly who joined the Elite BL club when he failed to convert a penalty.Way to go Belly
